Job Title: DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE

 I.  General Description: To provide all students and staff with a physical learning environment which is safe, clean, and of high quality; To provide technical expertise, oversight, and planning supervision to new school construction and renovation projects.

 

 II.  Qualifications:

  1. Five years of school-related operational experience or
  2. Three years of school-related construction / facilities management experience or
  3. Three years supervisory or administrative experience or
  4. A.A. or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred                                                                                                            

III. Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Recommends and administers budget for maintenance, grounds, custodial supplies, equipment, construction/remodeling projects, and personnel.
  2. Coordinates with the Director of Business Services and the Superintendent the development and implementation of a long-range facility plan.
  3. Develops and implements a yearly Operations Improvement Plan aligned to Governing Board goals.
  4. Assists in the recruitment, employment, assignment, transfer, promotion, demotion or dismissal of personnel under his/her supervision.
  5. Evaluates staff on a regular basis and makes recommendations for staff development and improvement.
  6. Coordinate work schedules with Transportation Director on employees working in Transportation and maintenance/custodial services.
