Job Title: Transportation Coordinator Department: Transportation FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain an IVP Clearance Card
SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Transportation Coordinator supports the development and implementation of a safe, efficient, and effective transportation program for students, staff, and the community. This position provides administrative and operational support to the Transportation Department while ensuring compliance with safety standards and district procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance Responsibilities Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Provide supervision and oversight of transportation department personnel, ensuring compliance with district policies and safety regulations
- Assists in the evaluation of transportation department personnel, including monitoring performance, safety compliance, and professionalism.
- Provide administrative and clerical support, including answering calls, scheduling meetings, and maintaining records
- Prepare purchase orders and requisitions for transportation-related needs
- Coordinate and maintain schedules for extracurricular trips and activities
- Draft and compose routine correspondence
- Schedule and organize regular staff and safety meetings
- Serve as a liaison between the district and parents regarding transportation concerns, complaints, and special requests
- Evaluate and maintain bus routes to ensure efficiency and alignment with student needs
- Collect and manage daily logs, fuel receipts, and related documentation
- Maintain knowledge of and compliance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Assist in preparing required district and state transportation reports
- Serve as a relief bus driver, as needed
- Assist with behind-the-wheel and classroom training for new drivers and ongoing safety requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements
- Current Arizona Bus Driver Certification
- Completion of an approved safe driving course
- Certification as a Behind-the-Wheel and Classroom Trainer (preferred or required as assigned)
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
SUPERVISION
Immediate Supervisor: Superintendent
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Twelve-month position
- Salary and work year in accordance with the current classified salary schedule
- Vacation in accordance with Classification IV guidelines
- Performance evaluation conducted by the Superintendent
